The application phase of the Interreg VI-A IPA Hungary Serbia Programmes' 2nd Call for Proposals has successfully finished! Within the deadline which was set to 15 December 2025 at 15:00 CET, our Programme received 136 project proposals, which spread out from Small to Regular Scale Projects, and cover the following Programme Priorities and Objectives:

  1. A greener region
1.1 Climate change adaptation, risk prevention - 10 applications received (3 SSP + 7 RSP)
    1.2 Biodiversity and reduced pollution - 16 applications (10 SSP + 6 RSP)
    2. Enhancing the human and cultural values
    2.1 Education and lifelong learning - 29 applications (14 SSP + 15 RSP)
    2.2 Culture and tourism - 33 applications (9 SSP + 24 RSP)
    3. Cross-border institutional and civil cooperation
    3.1 Harmonious neighbourly relations through cooperation - 48 applications (36 SSP + 12 RSP)

Altogether, 319 project partners are involved in the submitted applications, averaging 2.35 partners per project, which clearly reflects the high level of cross-border cooperation generated by the Call.

The Call generated strong interest: the total of 136 submitted applications requested EUR 38.4 million in EU support. This represents three times the available budget of approximately EUR 12.9 million, indicating a high level of competition across all Priorities and Objectives. The Programme expects that high-quality projects will be selected for contracting in 2026. As you can see, some of the listed objectives have attracted a great attention of applicants and resulted in a large number of application received within those objectives. So far, our Programme focuses now on the Formal and Administrative assessment of the received applications. The projects' contact personnel might expect some clarification questions to be received in January. Further more into the ongoing processes, we can say that the tentative date for the completion of the formal assessment is set to  February 2026, which will be followed by the quality assessment and the decision-making Monitoring Committee (MC) meeting. Only at that point we will know the exact list of projects offered a Subsidy contract, and publish the list of the contracted ones, hopefully by summer 2026.

We now continue our assessment work.
