The project focuses on protecting the Tisza River from pollution and improving wastewater management across Algyő (HU), Szeged (HU), Horgos (RS), Magyarkanizsa (RS), and surrounding areas. Algyő will purchase a high-capacity sewer cleaning vehicle to support safer stormwater drainage. Szegedi Vízmű Zrt. will train Horgos Waterworks on new camera inspection technology to enhance sewer monitoring. This equipment will address issues with stormwater and wastewater mixing, reducing the strain on treatment facilities. A detailed study by the Provincial Secretariat for Urban Planning and Environmental Protection will analyze industrial and domestic wastewater inputs, creating a pollution map for efficient resource use. The project includes establishing a cross-border cooperation agreement and a shared electronic database for managing emergencies, laying a foundation for long-term collaboration.
