OPTI-BIKE 3 develops sustainable cross-border cycling tourism in the HU-SRB region by constructing over 5 km of new routes, connecting EuroVelo 13, and creating a tourism brand. Activities include service points, festivals, a mobile app, and a promo film, promoting eco-tourism, cultural heritage, and healthy lifestyles.

The OPTI-BIKE 3 project aims to create a sustainable, inclusive cross-border cycling tourism brand in the Hungarian-Serbian border region, building on the success of previous project phases. By integrating diverse landscapes, cultural heritage, and eco-friendly infrastructure, the project will develop well-marked bike paths connecting Tompa, Subotica, Palić, and Hajdukovo, along with the EuroVelo 13 network. Key activities include the construction of over 5 km of new cycling routes, installation of service points, interactive boards, and branded counters, and promotion through a trilingual mobile app, festivals, and tours. The project emphasizes healthy lifestyles, environmental awareness, and local cultural values, enhancing tourism income and regional identity while offering cyclists unique routes and experiences.
(Expected) Results:- 4.2 km of new cycling paths and 1 bridge in Serbia, and 1.5 km in Hungary, all connected to EuroVelo 13.
- Installation of 2 bicycle pit stops, 5 service points, and 4 branded tourist counters with interactive boards in both countries.
- Development of a trilingual mobile app and a promotional film to showcase cycling routes and regional tourism potential.
- Organization of cycling festivals and cross-border tours to promote the OPTI-BIKE brand and cycling tourism.
- Distribution of a cycling tourism brochure in 5 languages to tourism stakeholders.
- Enhanced tourism income, improved local infrastructure, and strengthened cross-border collaboration, benefiting the broader EuroVelo 13 network.
