Objective 3.1: Harmonious neighbourly relations through cooperation
The project aims to facilitate smoother Hungary-Serbia border crossing through the analysis of infrastructure and procedures, and the identification of related development directions. By gathering local input and fostering cooperation among HU-RS stakeholders, we enhance decision-making and contribute to the development of efficient cross-border points, ensuring smoother and long-term transit.

The “Light Borders in DKMT” project aims to improve the permeability of the Hungary–Serbia border and support more efficient cross-border mobility. The project examined road, cycling, railway, and waterway border crossings, identifying potential improvements in infrastructure and border crossing procedures. Eight thematic workshops were organised to facilitate knowledge exchange and dialogue among institutions, local authorities, and professional stakeholders involved in border management. As a result, two professional studies were prepared, providing a detailed analysis of the current situation at border crossing points and the development possibilities of cross-border infrastructure. These studies serve as a basis for future development initiatives, policy decisions, and the establishment of more efficient and sustainable border crossing processes in the region.
